NEC Unveiling Multimedia Application Featured SP350 Softphone
NEC Corporation of America, one of the many other leading providers and integrators of advanced communications, networking and IT solutions, has just introduced its latest softphone, namely the Univerge SP350 that will enable users to work more efficiently, while still managing the various aspects of communication.
“With the SP350, people can share real-time, high-quality information, whether they’re in the office or working remotely,” said Jay Krauser, general manager, sales support and engineering, NEC Corporation of America. “Our new softphone is compact but versatile, has the same features as a desktop phone but with the addition of advanced multimedia applications and is designed to help employees be even more productive and efficient.”
Running as a PC application, the SP350 Softphone shares real-time information from a personal computer or a laptop that is capable of delivering high quality voice through a USB-connected headset/handset. One of the major benefits of using this is the space that organizations using integrated voice and data applications on a regular basis can save, supplementing or even replacing the standard desktop phones.
Even more, users can handle calls as if they were in the office using a simple Virtual Private Network Internet connection. Also, the SP350 ensures smooth integration support for voice calling function, within Microsoft Office Outlook. As for the operation versatility, or should I say commodity, the SP350 makes calling as easy as dragging and dropping a number from the contact list, call history or directory applications like Outlook, HTML pages or Word documents.
Presence information is the feature that enables employees to work more efficiently, as they constantly have real-time updated information on who is available and when, being in control as customer calls can be re-directed and placed to currently available people, while advanced network features provide time-saving applications like audio-video conferencing, application sharing, file transfer, whiteboard and instant messaging.
